The Bhutanese authorities strictly prohibit export of religious
antiquity or antiques of any type. Cameras, computers and other personal
electronic gadgets may be brought into the country but they must be listed
on the customs form provided on arrival at Paro Airport and will be checked
on departure.
Tourism Policy:
Tourism to Bhutan was privatized by the Royal Government in 1991. Here
the tourism industry is founded on the principle of sustainability, meaning
that tourism must be ecological and environment friendly, socially and
culturally acceptable and economically viable. To maintain these objectives
the number of tourists visiting Bhutan are kept to an environmentally
manageable level. |
